PropTech

BusinessCloud can reveal its PropTech 50 innovation ranking for 2021.

Readers of the online technology publication, an independent judging panel and Unissu’s UniScore PropTech data platform have together decided the 50 companies blazing a technology trail in the property sector.

The PropTech 50 celebrates businesses of all sizes creating original tech for real estate, construction, the built environment and building management. The ranking was initially revealed in a live event broadcast from the Unissu platform – which you can watch back here – featuring several of the companies mentioned below.

VU.CITY, a fully interactive 3D digital twin smart city platform for urban planners, tops the ranking.

EyeSpy360 is second ahead of Spaceflow, an app connecting buildings with their tenants through the integration of data, technology and people. From one platform, occupiers are able to access their building and open turnstiles, monitor air quality, book on-site amenities and report feedback or issues to the property management.

Rounding out the top five are Bunk and cloud-based property management system Gridizen. The latter provides a thriving virtual community for landlords and tenants which makes the relationship more efficient, focused and stress-free.

Hammock, a digital bank built specifically for landlords, made the top 10. Providing banking, bookkeeping, tax statement and business intelligence services, it also helps landlords stay on top of their compliance deadlines.

Checkboard, a KYC (know-your-customer) platform for property background checks, is in the top 20. Checkboard’s clients can receive a full detailed report in just 15 minutes.

Other innovative companies to feature in the ranking include Moovshack, an app for managing the property journey from search to moving in – both for home movers and agents – and Altuity Solutions, which creates facilities management and underground asset management software to help create safe and well-maintained buildings and construction sites for people to work, live, learn or socialise in.

A combination of these votes, choices from an independent judging panel and an innovation rating generated by the Unissu community via its UniScore PropTech data platform determined the top 50.

The judging panel was comprised of:

  • Melanie Leech CBE, chief executive, British Property Federation
  • Paul Unger, editor, PlaceTech
  • Maria Wiedner, CEO, Real Estate Women and Cambridge Finance
  • Jonathan Symcox, editor, BusinessCloud
