Revolut co-founder Vlad Yatsenko is stepping down as CTO of the company.

From 1st July Yatsenko (pictured, left, with Revolut CEO and co-founder Nikolay Storonsky) will become a non-executive director at the UK’s leading FinTech, which has 75 million customers worldwide.

One of the core architects of Revolut’s innovative platform, he will be succeeded by Donato Lucia as vice president of technology. 

Lucia has been a key member of Revolut’s engineering team for the past eight years, most recently serving as head of technology. 

He oversees the core platform and leads the build-out of Revolut’s global core banking infrastructure. He is at the helm of a global engineering organisation of over 1,400.

“We are pleased that Vlad will continue to lend his expertise to the company as he remains on the board, now as a non-executive director,” Revolut stated. 

“In this capacity, he will provide strategic oversight and technical counsel as we enter our next phase of growth. We are extremely grateful for his contributions and look forward to his continued partnership on the board.

“Donato has been a key part of Revolut’s engineering team for eight years. He has a deep understanding of our core infrastructure, and in partnership with Vlad and the wider team, he has been instrumental in scaling our global systems to support our current growth.”

Prior to Revolut, he held engineering positions at lastminute.com, IBM and HP, where he developed deep expertise in high-throughput payments and billing systems.
