SoftBank-backed DICE has been acquired by New York-based unicorn Fever as the two firms look to build the world’s leading independent live entertainment tech platform.

London-based DICE reportedly has around 10m active monthly users and has raised around £200m in funding, including a £90m Series C round in 2021 which was led by SoftBank Vision Fund 2.

The news comes in the same week that Fever completed a $100m raise in equity funding.

Fever’s footprint meanwhile, spans over 40 countries and reaches 300m people globally. In 2023, it was valued at $1.8bn.

The company’s platform is designed to help people discover and book entertainment experiences, whilst DICE simplifies how fans discover and attend live events.

The two joining forces will allow artists, promoters and venues working with DICE to keep using the platform exactly as they are today while also gaining access to Fever’s audience.

Fever’s music partners include standout names such as Primavera Sound, Fabrik, Last Tour, Cercle and TCE Presents.

DICE also has an impressive roster of partners, including Club Space, Newport Jazz and Folk Festival, Sonar, London’s Alexandra Palace and Rough Trade.

“Together, we are strengthening our position as the leading global tech player for culture & live entertainment,” said Ignacio Bachiller, Alexandre Perez and Francisco Hein, co-founders of Fever.

“We are on a joint mission to put fans first and provide our partners with the best and most innovative tools.

“At Fever, we are firm believers that data and technology have the power to elevate the live music experience – making it more accessible, more personalised, and ultimately more impactful for fans, artists, and venues alike.”

Phil Hutcheon, founder and CEO of DICE, added: “Since launching DICE in 2014, we’ve stayed true to our mission to get people out more by constantly enhancing the fan experience.

“From our personalised Discover feature to our upfront, all-in pricing and Waitlist feature, we’ve always put fans first. That same ethos is what we’ve found in Fever.

“Joining forces allows us to scale even faster. Reaching new cities, helping sell out more shows, and delivering the seamless experience fans expect.”
