Two new speakers have been confirmed for an exclusive logistics event in Lancashire next month.
‘Changing faces, places and spaces’ has been organised by FI Real Estate Management (FIREM), which has a portfolio of over 14m sq ft of commercial property across the UK.
The addition of Ayan Mohamed, founder and CEO of Digitech Oasis, and Jonathan Eeley, chief commercial officer, of Acuma, bring the number of speakers up to eight.
Digitech Oasis provides impactful AI solutions to help clients dominate their market while Acuma Solutions deliver digital transformation projects.
The impact of technology on the logistics sector will be one of the themes of an exclusive business event on September 21.
Analysts say the logistics sector has undergone more change in the last three years because of Brexit and Covid than it has in the previous 25 – and the changes continue to come.
Logistics event to discuss impact of technology on the sector
Technology has driven digital transformation and greater automation within logistics and several digital disruptors have entered the market.
The demand for space has changed with a greater emphasis on decarbonisation, the green agenda and the road to net zero.
The event will be chaired by award-winning journalist Chris Maguire and will be hosted at FIREM’s iconic head office at Canal Mill, at Botany Bay, Chorley.
Construction work is currently underway on a new £26m industrial and commercial park at the historic 21-acre Botany Bay site, which will deliver 33 units for light industrial and commercial use across 405,000 sq ft and a drive-thru food outlet.
The other six speakers are:
- Hannah Barlow, managing director at Dunsters Farm;
- Anita Donohoe, group MD Logistics at Kinaxia Logistics;
- Alex Grant, managing director at Ceedbox;
- Damian McCluskey, director at Simplycargo Wholesale;
- Andrew Hodgson, co-founder and CEO of if.vehicles; and
- Matthew Pickles, head of business development at FI Real Estate Management.
The speakers will discuss a range of issues including the growth of technology and automation; the road to net zero and the green agenda; how the logistics sector is recovering after Brexit and Covid; and what occupiers want from their space.
