Manchester City has introduced a new virtual reality experience as part of its stadium tour, becoming the first Premier League club to do so.

The feature, titled Beyond The Blue Moon’ in a nod to the song associated with the eight-time Premier League champions, aims to add a high-tech, immersive layer to the Etihad Stadium tour.

It combines storytelling and interactive elements, allowing fans to explore Manchester City-themed environments, fly over a futuristic version of the stadium and simulate lifting a trophy in front of a cheering crowd.

The experience also includes content that highlights key moments from the club’s history, legendary players and iconic goals.

According to the club, the initiative is part of a wider effort to enhance the stadium tour with technology.

Other features already in place include simulated press conferences with a virtual version of club manager, Pep Guardiola, as well as audio of crowd noise in the player tunnel.

“The launch of our first-of-its-kind virtual reality experience marks an exciting evolution of the Manchester City Stadium Tour, offering fans and visitors an entirely new way to connect with the club through immersive, cutting-edge technology,” said Danny Wilson, managing director of Manchester City Operations.

Beyond The Blue Moon reflects our broader commitment to embracing innovation and reimagining traditional experiences, which is something we will continue to focus on as we prepare to open our new Manchester City Museum next year following the completion of our entertainment destination at the Etihad Campus.”
