Zen Internet, the UK’s largest B Corp accredited technology service provider, has appointed Phil Male as its new chair.
The internal promotion comes as Richard Tang steps back into the position of CEO and Zen continues to strengthen its position as a trusted technology service provider.
Zen has offices in Rochdale and Leeds and employs more than 500 people.
Having been on Zen’s board for four years, Male brings over three decades of experience in the telecoms industry where he has been instrumental in the development of technology and media services in the UK.
Male has previously worked for Cable&Wireless and JT Group and will now oversee Zen’s board, ensuring its strategy remains on track for success.
He will be responsible for driving Zen’s vision of people and planet, working with board members to execute plans and seize the opportunity for growth as an independent service provider in the UK.
Richard Tang, CEO of Zen Internet, said: “I’m delighted to welcome Phil as Zen’s new chair. Phil has been a non-executive director at Zen for four years and has already added tremendous value. In the chair role, I’m sure he’ll add even more.”
Phil Male, chair of Zen Internet, said: “I’m excited to be the chair of Zen at a time of huge opportunity for an independent service provider. Zen’s culture and dynamic is a breath of fresh air and is highly renowned within the sector.
“Having worked in telecoms for the last 20 years, rolling out fibre networks and IP networks across the UK and overseas, I see a clear path for growth at Zen with the Government taking the digital industry seriously – for the first time in my career! I look forward to leading its vision alongside a great team of industry professionals.”
