Charlton Athletic’s home ground, The Valley, is set for a major digital revamp this October following a new partnership with stadium technology specialists ADI.

Nearly 600m² of new digital screens and signage will be installed, creating one of the largest digital platforms in UK football.

The upgrade is designed to transform the matchday experience for fans while opening up fresh commercial opportunities for the recently-promoted Championship side and its partners.

As part of the deal, Preston-based ADI will manufacture and install the new hardware as well as manage matchday content, which will be delivered via its Live Venue remote broadcast fibre network.

The firm has also been advising the 2025 League One playoff winners on how best to monetise the new assets, including through partnerships with local businesses.

“The new stadium upgrades should provide a massive uplift to the matchday experience at The Valley and will be one of the largest digital platforms in UK football,” said Claire Fitzgerald-Firth, head of engagement & client services at ADI.

“The new screen is nearly twice the size and width of the previous one, meaning it can add far more value than just showing the live match feed.”

Charlton CFO and COO, Ed Warrick, added: “The installation of the big screen and digiboards marks the culmination of a summer of hard work to improve The Valley, despite a shortened off-season following our on-pitch success.

“These upgrades reflect our commitment to driving elite standards at the club and enhancing the matchday experience for our supporters.”

The full installation is set to be completed ahead of Charlton’s home game against Sheffield Wednesday on 18th October.
