Sheffield data and marketing agency Jaywing has been bought by a London FinTech group a year after deciding against a sale.
This time last year, Jaywing – then listed on the London Stock Exchange’s junior AIM market – concluded a strategic review and replaced its CEO after spending around two months exploring a sale.
A further management reshuffle also saw it change its chair as it sought to recover profitability.
It said at the time: “The very tough trading conditions over the last 2-3 years have begun to ease somewhat and the hard decisions on cost-cutting taken by the company, coupled with increased business confidence, give us some cause for optimism… whilst it is too early to predict any sustained recovery, the board has concluded that seeking to crystallise value through a sale of the company at this time is not in the interests of stakeholders.”
Jaywing delisted from London Stock Exchange AIM market in February 2025 and has now agreed a deal to join Stubben Edge Group.
The agency, which brings a 25-year heritage in data science and its cutting-edge accelerator lab, said the deal arrives during a period of substantial growth for both organisations.
Catherine Kelly, who was promoted to managing director at Jaywing in January 2024, highlighted the key benefits for the agency and its clients: “This is an incredibly exciting development, allowing us to significantly build on our 25-year legacy in data science, AI and integrated marketing.
“By combining our deep expertise with Stubben Edge’s cutting-edge technology, we are truly enhancing our ability to deliver the innovative, data-driven solutions our clients need to achieve tangible growth and navigate complex markets. Our focus at Jaywing remains on client success and utilising these newly combined capabilities to drive even better performance.”
Established in 2018, Stubben Edge says it has consistently driven change within financial services, particularly in the insurance industry.
Chris Kenning, CEO of Stubben Edge, said: “We are thrilled to welcome Jaywing’s UK operations into the Stubben Edge family. Jaywing’s exceptional reputation for digital marketing and data-driven insights will perfectly complement our own strengths and help us deliver even more integrated solutions to our clients.
“Jaywing will bring its proven expertise in digital marketing and data insights to enhance Stubben Edge’s offerings, whilst Stubben Edge will enable Jaywing’s clients to benefit from a broader range of integrated services.”
