Data science and marketing agency Jaywing has appointed a new managing director as part of a ‘refreshed brand proposition’.

The Sheffield firm welcomes Dr Catherine Kelly (pictured, second from left), who has been with the business since 2017, as its new MD.

Maria Vardy, who served as MD for a decade, left the business for Builtvisible last summer. Andrew Fryatt serves as Jaywing’s CEO.

Dr Kelly has a wealth of previous experience including a PhD in Mathematics from the University of Nottingham and senior positions at premium brands including Diageo, Kellogg’s and ASDA.

Jaywing started as a specialist data business 25 years ago. Now the integrated agency says its distinct offering has led to a raft of new client partnerships, including Bettys, AO and The Entertainer.

“We are an innovative agency that harnesses our heritage in data to deliver marketing that works,” explained Dr Kelly. “Our purpose is to be the most inspirational and valued partner to our clients, and we have a very talented leadership team in place to get us there.

“We’ve got ambitious plans for 2024 and I’m confident that we’ve created a solid infrastructure to achieve that growth.”

Karl Stones (second from right), executive creative director, has been with the business for five years and has been key to bringing the refreshed proposition to life.

He said: “The refreshed brand proposition, ‘stories written with numbers’, wholly defines who we are as a business and what makes us completely unique.

“Our distinctive offering across creative, media and data science, underpinned by numbers, provides a unique blend that sets us apart from other integrated marketing agencies.”

Dr Kelly and Stones are supported by Karen Snape (right), data science director, who has been with the business for 20 years, and Chris Langan (left), media director.
