myenergi has appointed a group CEO to lead the Grimsby GreenTech alongside former CEO and now chief innovation officer Lee Sutton.

Yesterday Jordan Brompton revealed her decision to step down from her day-to-day role at the firm she founded with Sutton.

Former CMO Brompton, the public face of the business, will remain on the board as a company director and shareholder.

New group CEO Andrew Clint brings more than 20 years of senior leadership experience in international technology businesses.

He most recently served as CCO at London-based OpSec Security for the last 12 months after launching as a consultant.

Prior to that he worked at Basingstoke firm De La Rue, which provides physical and digital security protections for products. As managing director for its authentication division he says he helped the firm to double to £90m turnover, while his other roles included group commercial director.

Earlier in his career he spent more than a decade at tech giant Dell in finance and business development roles.

“I am delighted to be joining the talented team at myenergi to lead this successful international business into the next chapter of growth, through a relentless focus on delivery,” said Clint.

“By adding to myenergi’s current product line-up, we will make it simple, effective and efficient for our customers in new and existing markets across the UK, Europe and Australasia to unlock the full potential of their energy transformations.”

Brompton revealed her decision to step down after eight years just days after she won the Northern Leaders’ Business Champion Award for Yorkshire & Humberside.

“I welcome Andrew to our business and look forward to watching him lead this next stage of growth alongside Lee and the team,” she said.

Writing on social media, the published author said: “I started with -£20k in my bank with my business partner and now one of my best friends Lee Sutton [and grew] to a £50m+ turnover business.

“Together we built one of the fastest-growing tech businesses in the UK.

“We met and built one of the best teams in our industry and I’ve made friends for life on this crazy ride from far and wide.

“We proved you can have success with British manufacturing and do it profitably.

“I’ve travelled the world growing the business, wrote a children’s book and had some of the best experiences of my life. Myenergi opened so many doors for this lass from Grimsby.

“We’ve given hundreds of thousands back to the local community and created real career opportunities for people.

“We smashed through barriers, we laughed, we’ve cried.

“The highs have been extremely high [and] the lows have been the lowest! But what a ride! What an experience.

“I’ve decided to take a step back from ‘the job’ to enjoy some well earned rest and family time before pursuing my next adventure.”

Brompton hasn’t revealed what she’s doing next but on her personal website she speaks of investing in early-stage startups and helping the next generation of innovators scale their impact.
