THG PLC has appointed a new non-executive director in Milyae Park.
The Manchester-headquartered eCommerce firm welcomes the former MD for Europe at Marks & Spencer to its board, with chair Charles Allen praising her “strong track record in international retail, consumer and digital businesses, as well as a notable advocate for sustainability, diversity, equity and inclusion”.
Park has enjoyed a long and varied career in digital and eCommerce transformation, dealmaking and entrepreneurship.
She started out in the 90s with four years working in PwC’s audit practice, serving Silicon Valley tech clients, before going into investment banking with Goldman Sachs.
From 2002 she spent five years as a partner for corporate strategy and M&A at professional services tech specialist Accenture before serving as a business development director then commercial director for European clothing at Tesco.
In one year at M&S, Park held responsibility for P&L for clothing, food and beauty for 23 countries across Europe as the business executed an international turnaround.
She then launched and built a luxury womenswear business as CEO of Tricouni before launching a portfolio career in 2019.
Park previously served as the chair of the Museum of London, alongside governor, brand and digital champion roles with the London Museum.
She now serves as non-executive director of Alliance Witan PLC, Faber and Faber Ltd and Fidelity European Trust PLC.
“I am delighted to join THG during this transformational period as the group focuses on growing its leading consumer brands,” said Park.
“I have long admired THG’s commitment to innovation and excellence, and I look forward to working closely with Charles, [CEO] Matthew [Moulding] and the rest of the board to contribute to the group’s continued success and global expansion.”
