BusinessCloud can reveal its HealthTech 50 and MedTech 50 innovation rankings for 2023.

Readers of the online technology publication and an independent judging panel have together decided the 100 companies blazing a trail with original technology for the healthcare and medical sectors. 

HealthTech 50

The HealthTech 50 focuses on companies creating tech for personal and preventative healthcare, as well as GP practice management and messaging platforms. 

It was led by Cera Care, which allows people to find and manage home care for elderly people.

CareLineLive, an all-in-one cloud-based home care management software, was second. For home care providers, it improves efficiency, capacity and compliance by digitising their workflows and automating processes such as rostering and payroll.

In third is MyMynd, a digital mental health platform which has transformed how employees can take control of their mental health and employers can target wellbeing efforts at organisational needs.

Feebris and Sweatcoin complete the top five.

Doc Abode, an innovator in workforce management software, is seventh. Starting in urgent care, it has expanded to cover primary and community care.

Dietary Assessment Ltd, which specialises in providing high-quality nutritional analysis software – myfood24 – to researchers, educators and healthcare professionals, is 13th.

Also featuring is telehealth services provider Doctor Care Anywhere; Mizaic, behind Electronic Document Management System MediViewer; Open Medical, creator of Pathpoint patient management software; and Eva Health Technologies, which has developed the Elevate Electronic Medical Record platform and eVacc point-of-care solution for sites co-administering Covid-19 and flu vaccinations.

MedTech 50

The MedTech 50 celebrates businesses helping to diagnose and treat conditions, mainly in a clinical setting such as a hospital, and other biotechnology companies. 

Inotec, creators of the NATROX® O₂ device which heals wounds with humidified oxygen, tops the ranking. It generates and delivers continuous topical oxygen therapy to patients while being non-invasive, comfortable and highly effective.

Second is Isansys Lifecare, which has developed the Patient Status Engine (PSE) – an advanced remote patient monitoring platform combining wearable sensors, wireless connectivity, predictive AI analytics, dashboards and alerting for hospital, home and community settings.

In fourth behind Closed Loop Medicine is Gendius, a health data and insights business focused on metabolic disease. It develops algorithms that enable earlier identification and interventions to transform outcomes for patients and save lives.

In fifth is Scan.com, which makes diagnostic and preventable medical imaging accessible to all. It integrates with private hospitals and diagnostic centres via API, and makes their spare capacity available to patients via a website and B2B portal.

Behind Brainomix in seventh is Inovus Medical, which designs and manufactures connected surgical training technologies including laparoscopic simulators, hysteroscopy simulators, accessories, basic surgical skills, sellic Cricoid pressure trainers and SmartManCPR manikins.

Also featuring is Electrospinning Company, which designs, develops and manufactures nanofibrous biomaterials for medical devices and regenerative medicine, and TrakCel, behind digital cellular orchestration solutions to track and manage the cell and gene therapy supply chain.

MedTech 50 – UK’s medical technology creators for 2023

BusinessCloud called on its readers to vote for companies from the 101-strong (HealthTech 50) and 131-strong (MedTech 50) shortlists and saw a total of 3,400 votes pour in.

A combination of these votes and choices from an independent judging panel determined the top 50s.
