Cloud and colocation firm UKFast has been named the best workplace in Manchester – and the fifth best in the UK.
At last night’s Sunday Times Top 100 Best Companies to Work For awards, the company climbed from its previous-best position of 25.
The people-focused business has become renowned in the city for its extraordinary office space, UKFast Campus, on the edge of Manchester Science Park.
It has an onsite gym, steam room, crèche and dedicated training and education space.
CEO Lawrence Jones MBE said: “To be the No.1 Sunday Times Best Company to Work For in Manchester is tremendous.
“The culture at UKFast is unique and it’s created by the team themselves, taking ownership by setting up running clubs, netball, and football clubs.
“It’s a place where people work out doing gym classes together run by fellow colleagues; an environment where all the departments interact and value each other.”
Despite scooping the award and featuring in the Best Companies list for six years, Jones says that there is more to come from the fast-growing tech firm.
“It’s work in progress too and I believe there is a lot we can learn to continue to build and improve every aspect of the business.
“The Best Companies accreditation is more than just another award. The company provides invaluable data which helps us identify what we are doing well and where we need to improve.
“I have no doubt Jonathan Austin’s company Best Companies is a catalyst in helping us improve and achieve great things.”
UKFast recently announced a recruitment drive for apprentices, as well as vacancies across the business.
