Gloucestershire HealthTech company, Intouch with Health (Intouch), has secured a significant contract that will see it expand operations into Australia for the first time.

Established in 1999, the firm has been chosen by Australian Capital Territory (ACT) Health to implement its digital patient flow management solutions across the country’s capital city of Canberra.

The company specialises in delivering IT-based patient flow management solutions to help hospitals and private healthcare providers, in the UK and internationally, increase organisational efficiency and deliver an improved patient experience.

Intouch will work alongside its Australian distributor, Device Technologies, to introduce queue management and patient wayfinding solutions in hospitals and community healthcare centres across the city.

The firm responded to an initial invitation to tender for the provision of a patient wayfinding and queue management solution for the new University of Canberra Public Hospital (UCH) in October 2017.

It secured preferred bidder status in January this year and has since negotiated a territory-wide contract to implement its solutions in ACT Health sites.

“We are delighted to have been chosen to work with ACT Health,” said Intouch with Health chief executive Mike Sanders.

“This contract represents a significant step forward in our global expansion strategy. We will be implementing electronic wayfinding and digital patient flow management solutions that are expected to be live at UCH by November this year.

“Services will also be implemented into the Canberra Hospital and Community Health Centres at Belconnen, Gunghalin, Phillip & Woden and we will also be delivering a mobile appointment manager solution.”

More than 100 UK NHS hospitals use the Intouch patient flow management system in whole or in part, including University College Hospital in London and the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham.
