Three Indian digital companies have set up UK bases at Liverpool’s Sci-Tech Daresbury as part of its Soft Landing Programme.
TIBS Global, VenPep Solutions and Everleaves Systems will join the Liverpool City Region innovation campus, bringing expertise in industrial internet of things (IoT), automation, AI, embedded engineering and software development.
The move follows a two-year collaboration between Invest Liverpool City Region and the Department for Business and Trade India, which has introduced more than 100 Indian tech firms to the region through delegations and visits.
VenPep Solutions, based in Tamil Nadu, develops AI and automation platforms including MySafety; a gamified compliance tool; a growth platform for membership organisations; and Todook, an AI chatbot.
The company plans to expand its UK engineering and product teams, pilot new AI solutions, and double its UK footprint by 2026.
Meanwhile, Everleaves Systems is headquartered in Chennai, specialising in embedded systems and advanced engineering for industries such as aerospace, defence, automotive and industrial automation.
It aims to build a local team, partner with UK manufacturers and co-develop new technologies for the European market.
Kerala-based TIBS Global focuses on industrial IoT and predictive maintenance. Its retrofitting solutions look to turn traditional machines into connected assets, helping manufacturers embrace smart factory technologies.
The firm is already working with AMRC North West and looking to expand collaborations within the country.
“Attracting global innovators to our region is key to achieving my ambition of increasing Foreign Direct Investment by 25% by the end of the decade,” said Steve Rotheram, Mayor of the Liverpool City Region.
“The arrival of three new companies at Sci-Tech Daresbury is a clear signal of the Liverpool City Region’s growing reputation on the world stage as a home for cutting-edge technologies and international collaboration.
“By offering a unique blend of world-class facilities, academic excellence and an innovation-friendly ecosystem, we are laying the foundations for a stronger, more connected, and globally competitive regional economy.”
John Leake, business growth director at Sci-Tech Daresbury, added: “We are thrilled to welcome these ambitious Indian digital companies to Sci-Tech Daresbury.
“Our Soft Landing Programme is designed to accelerate global innovators into the UK and European markets, and these businesses reflect the bold, visionary entrepreneurship we are proud to support.
“The arrival of these companies also aligns with the UK’s ambition to deepen economic collaboration with India, particularly in the fields of science, technology, and innovation.
“That a trio of such exciting companies have chosen Sci-Tech Daresbury and the Liverpool City Region as their home reflects the inspiring opportunities that can be facilitated on our campus.”
