PayPal and Live Nation Entertainment have signed a multi-year deal to make PayPal the preferred payment partner for Ticketmaster.

The deal will give fans a simple and flexible way to purchase tickets for gigs, according to the companies.

Live entertainment fans will also be able to opt for PayPal’s Pay Later option and spread the cost of their tickets over four payments. In addition, PayPal Braintree takes up the role of Ticketmaster’s global payment processor. The companies say this will speed up the checkout process and avoid basket abandonment.

PayPal offers fans Buyer Protection and advanced fraud detection, with the option for customers to use a one-time login. This allows them to opt for their information to be saved for future purchases.

The payment options will be available for fans in 21 countries.

PayPal Checkout gives fans a secure and trusted way to pay. They can choose their funding source for the transaction by selecting from the payment methods they have on file, including credit and debit cards, PayPal balance and bank withdrawals. Customers do not have to share any personal financial data with Ticketmaster.

PayPal Pay Later, meanwhile, will let fans pay for their tickets over a course of instalments in fixed amounts.

PayPal is a trusted payment option for people buying all kinds of goods and services online. It is the preferred payment method for everything from grocery shopping to booking travel and online gaming. In addition, online gamblers can choose from a great range of PayPal slot sites UK

Using either the app or browser version, PayPal is easy to access, and there is no need to find any additional payment details.

“Our goal is seamlessly connecting artists and event organisers with fans wherever they are in the world, and PayPal helps us take that to the next level with a truly global-reaching payments solution,” said Ticketmaster president Mark Yovich.

“This partnership gives fans continuity and confidence that they have a secure, trusted and accessible payment method wherever in the world they happen to be attending an event”.

Peggy Alford, EVP of Global Sales at PayPal, added: “PayPal’s scale and ability to provide payments options in global markets comes from the company’s experience over several decades and has resulted in a strong reputation among consumers as a trusted payment method.”

She said that data showed consumers were three times more likely to complete a purchase for tickets to a live entertainment event if PayPal was an option at the checkout.

In addition, fans can check out in as little as seconds and choose flexible payment options if they so wish.

There will be a global marketing program to make live entertainment fans aware of the scheme, which will include loyalty offers and experiences.
