The chairman of two listed investment funds has passed away.
Nigel Cayzer has chaired Oryx International Growth Fund, a Guernsey-based investor listed on the main market of the London Stock Exchange, since 1995.
He has also chaired Aberdeen Asian Smaller Companies Investment Trust PLC since 1995.
Cayzer (pictured in 2014) was a director of a number of private companies and was chairman of Maggie’s, the leading cancer charity, from 2005 until 2014.
Oryx announced the sad news to the LSE today. He was 71 and father to four children.
The fund, which takes an activist approach, has a long-term portfolio of small- and mid-sized quoted and unquoted companies in the UK and the US.
“The board will make arrangements for the appointment of a new chairman in due course and will provide a further update to the market in the near future,” it said.
