Greenbids has appointed Michael Hanbury-Williams as its UK managing director as it expands in this market.
Paris-based Greenbids’ tech is helping companies to decarbonise the impact of digital adverts by minimising inefficiencies and enhancing media performance.
Hanbury-Williams joins following eight years at Universal McCann London – the leading global media network in IPG Mediabrands – where he was head of sustainability and purpose across EMEA.
In his new role, Hanbury-Williams will lead client relationships and oversee the growth of Greenbids’ product and sales teams, drawing on his experience across digital campaign planning and management, data and innovation consultancy, as well as sustainability and purpose.
“I worked with Greenbids for 18 months on the agency side and their product smashed every test we put in front of it, proving to me that advertising effectiveness doesn’t have to cost the planet,” he said.
“Greenbids has a unique positioning: it’s an AI-based company which was built from the ground up with both media efficiency and carbon in mind, whereas other companies have retrofitted their existing products to include carbon.
“To join a leading company such as this – one that is growing in a market that has seen simultaneous innovation in sustainability and media – was the easiest decision of my career.”
CEO & co-founder Guillaume Grimbert said: “Today’s CMOs are navigating an increasingly complex landscape, where they’re not only tasked with driving business growth, but also expected to champion sustainability.
“It’s a daunting challenge, but one we’re singularly equipped to solve. At Greenbids, we believe that better media quality is the answer – combining attention, efficiency, and sustainability.
“With Michael’s deep understanding of the intersection between sustainability and media, he will play a pivotal role in helping us accelerate our mission to transform the UK advertising industry – delivering real impact through better media quality and responsible innovation.
“I couldn’t be more excited to have him onboard to help us lead this charge.”
