Bitcoin is back above $40k after gaining 3% in value in the last 24 hours.

At the time of writing (7am UK), market-leading cryptocurrency BTC is close to $40,500 and 2% up in a week.

Ethereum (ETH), the world’s second most valuable crypto, also rose 3% to $2,775 and is 15% up over seven days.

The other majors did not enjoy the same growth.

Cardano (ADA) dropped a half-percentage point to sit at $1.37 but is 6% up on its price last Friday.

Ripple’s XRP coin fell a similar amount, with its 73 cent price 2% down over seven days.

Binance Coin (BNB) remains at $334 with a tiny increase which puts it 5% up in a week.

‘PayPal for crypto’ secures FCA registration

Meme coin Dogecoin (DOGE) decreased slightly to stay around 20c and is 3% down over seven days.

THETA (THETA) climbed the most of the world’s 100 most valuable coins. It gained 14% to reach $6.92 and is 16% up in a week. Not one of the top 100 dropped more than 4% of its value.

The cryptocurrency market gained 2% in value in the last 24 hours, with the 11,000+ coins now worth a collective $1.66 trillion.
