Last-minute holiday rentals company Snaptrip.com has continued to expand its growing team with two senior hires.

Josh James, formerly of cashback website Quidco, has been appointed as chief operating officer; and Matthew Witt, formerly COO of Booking.com, has taken up the role of board director.

James joins the four-year-old business with 12 years of digital marketing experience, having worked across brands including VoucherCodes.co.uk, Quidco, EarnAWay and Moneyfarm.

His appointment brings the London-based team, launched in 2014, to 18 members.

“Over the past four years the Snaptrip.com team has laid an incredibly strong foundation upon which to grow,” James said. “I can’t wait to work with such an enthusiastic group of people and get stuck in.

“With more and more people choosing to take a staycation rather than go abroad it felt like the perfect time to join and I’m really looking forward to making my mark and harnessing the huge potential of Snaptrip.com.

“The road is seldom straight but I’m sure we’ll overcome anything that stands in our way.”

Snaptrip.com is also welcoming Matthew Witt to the team as a board director and investor.

Witt has a strong background in travel, having been COO of Active Hotels, and played an instrumental role in rebranding it into Booking.com where he then worked as COO before taking on a number of non-executive and advisory roles in travel and related industries.

Matt Fox, co-founder and CEO of Snaptrip.com, said: “Both Josh and Matthew bring an impressive array of experience to the business and we’re looking forward to having them both on board.

“It’s an exciting period for Snaptrip.com and their knowledge, experience and expertise will really strengthen the company so that we can help even more customers find the perfect UK holiday destination.”
