Intranet firm Oak Engage is to hire 35 new staff as it looks to expand internationally.

The Newcastle-based company is to fill roles in product, engineering, customer success, marketing and business development.

Oak already employs 55 staff at its headquarters at Generator Studios in the city centre, having hired 17 people this year.

Oak enables businesses to engage and connect their employees through its cloud-based mobile app and SaaS platform, which integrates with office tools.

It has a focus on wellbeing and engagement, which it says is more crucial than ever before with people working remotely due to COVID-19.

Oak works with brands including Aldi, Boohoo, Halfords, ITV and most recently, Five Guys. Its app was launched to the entire Five Guy’s workforce in the middle of the pandemic.

“Oak is a fast-growing company and we’re scaling rapidly. It’s been an exciting journey so far and this is only the beginning,” said CEO Will Murray.

“Our investment in technology provides an innovative solution, making our model more efficient and agile, resulting in a better experience for businesses and their people, connecting them at a time when they need it most.

“We’re expanding our team and have a wide range of roles available. We’re proud of our roots and committed to creating opportunities in the region in order to enhance our capabilities for the future.

“Oak Engage has a brilliant culture and we are eager to take advantage of the talent on our doorstep.

“People who are looking for exciting career options – whether that’s young people or more experienced professionals – no longer need to move out of the region to find them.”
