A SaaS business that matches employers with tech talent has added to its own team with three new appointments.

Technically Compatible, a Sunderland Software Centre based business that helps recruiters make technical hires, has announced the appointment of a new chair of the board, a head of customer success and a marketing manager, as it continues on a pathway of rapid growth.

The software company offers allows employers to test the technical competency of potential recruits as well as their existing staff.

Newly appointed chair, Ross Miller came from a career at Compaq before getting into the world of tech startups in the early noughties. The company said he has vast experience of scaling ventures and raising funds to achieve highly profitable businesses.

“Technically Compatible is a tech disruptor; we have transformed the way our clients recruit and a great many employers will feel the benefit of software that allows them to make more informed recruitment decisions,” he said.

“I am delighted to be joining Technically Compatible at such an exciting time in the company’s development. I’m looking forward to what we can achieve, working with Mike and the team.”

Miller replaces Maurice Whittle, who has chaired the board for five years. He is joined by new executive recruits Isabel Herrera and Kevin Clohesy who joined in April and May respectively.

New marketing manager Herrera moved to the business from Newcastle Building Society, where she held a position as marketing manager for advice and third party products, having relocated to the region in 2018.

Clohesy will lead a customer service focused team ensuring client projects run as smoothly as possible, has joined the firm from tech giant Sage Plc, where he was pre-sales manager, having been with the business for almost 15 years.

“These are important new appointments that signify the ambition that exists in the business,” said Mike Rohan, CEO of Technically Compatible.

“Adding Ross as chair of Technically Compatible will focus the board towards accelerating the growth of the business, ensuring we maximise the funding we have attracted to date. And our two executive appointments, Kevin and Isabel, are equally important.

“Kevin has learned from the best when it comes to designing service propositions that delight customers and his attention to detail in the delivery phase is second to none, while Isabel brings a wealth of marketing expertise, having built a career with global brands that will serve her well as we grow this business. Her track record, combined with her creative flair and attention to detail, make her the the best marketer I’ve ever had the privilege to interview.

“We’re delighted to have them on the team.”

Since an injection of finance in October 2018, the company has recruited – on average – one person per month, with more appointments in the pipeline, including a junior developer who will start in June.

By then end of the year the company plans to have doubled in size compared to last year, and is moving into a new office space within the Software Centre to accommodate its growth.

The company boasts a client list that includes Sage, Next, the Home Office, Land Registry and NHS Digital, as well as global corporations such as KPMG.
