One of the first people to launch mobile ads for Google in EMEA has joined GetGround, described as the UK’s only digital company formation platform dedicated to buy-to-let investors.

Marco Grossi, who joins as VP revenue, brings a wealth of experience at some of the world’s biggest tech brands, including Google and Facebook. He will drive sales and marketing as the company seeks to bring greater transparency and accessibility to the buy-to-let market.

Grossi was in the seed team which launched mobile advertising for Google in EMEA. Online advertising today accounts for more than 80% of Google’s worldwide $183 billion revenue.

He was then part of the founding team for Google Cloud, the tech giant’s cloud computing service which today generates $20bn in annual revenues.

Grossi then served as head of SMB advertising in EMEA for Facebook before joining Stocard, a German digital wallet app used by 60 million people worldwide, where he was VP of global sales. Stocard was sold to Klarna for an estimated €110m last summer.

“Marco’s appointment is a huge win for GetGround and he is an important asset in our fast-growth strategy,” said GetGround CEO and co-founder Moubin Faizullah Khan.

“Working closely with our data and product teams, Marco’s experience and perspective will help us ensure we have the best possible understanding of what GetGround customers – present and future – want, need and value while rolling out our extended product roadmap.”

GetGround employs more than 60 people at its offices in London, Singapore and Hong Kong as well as two new tech hubs in Berlin and Lisbon.

Since launching in early 2020, it now manages $670 million of UK property on behalf of its customers. At its current run rate, the business is adding $1bn of UK property to its platform a year.

Grossi added: “GetGround may be less than two years old but already it’s adding $1bn of property on an annualised basis: the company is being highly disruptive to a very traditional industry, making it just the sort of business I love to support.

“With its clear, customer-driven strategic approach and awesome collaborative team culture, GetGround stands to become the definitive marketplace that helps anyone to invest in hard-to-access assets.”
