Wirral-based Evoke Creative has continued to make headlines around the world for its technology.
The company are specialists in interactive retail solutions and recently delivered a ground-breaking digital marketing solution for JD Sports at the brand’s flagship US store in Times Square, New York, which opened last month.
Working in direct partnership with JD Sports and its brand partners, Evoke designed and implemented a unique solution that combines over 100 different digital signage and interactive kiosks, all controlled by Evoke’s cloud-based platform.
The company was included in the LCR Tech Climbers inaugural list in 2019 and is hoping to be included in the new LCR Tech Climbers List 2021.
Earlier this year Evoke developed a kiosk which could check visitors’ temperature as they enter premises, providing an early warning system against Covid-19.
Dean Ward is the co-founder and CTO of Evoke Digital and said the region’s tech credentials were sometimes overlooked.
“That’s why initiatives like the LCR Tech Climbers list is so important,” he said. “We were delighted to have been included in the inaugural one on 2019 and it would be a real honour to make the 2021 one.”
The second list promises to be even bigger and better than the 2019 one and will showcase the top performing technology-led businesses that make Liverpool City Region one of the UK’s most exciting tech destinations.
The list is being run in association with BusinessCloud and will be unveiled at an exclusive event in 2021 and published online.
Entries to the 2021 list will be judged on:
• The impact of the technology or service;
• Innovation and IP development potential; and
• Investment potential of the technology.
Entries close on December 14th and will be revealed at an exclusive launch event on January 28th, 2021.
The partners for LCR Tech Climbers 2021 are Growth Platform, Brabners; MSIF; Invest Liverpool; ZUT Media; and Gather.
Evoke Creative was founded more than 16 years ago and today employs 85 people and has a turnover of £15m.
The company works extensively in the hospitality and retail sectors and has diversified so it’s not too reliant on one industry. It has worked with big names like Google, Walmart and Goldman Sachs.
“Over the last 12 months we’ve been building a solutions-based business which is creating recurring revenue,” he said.
“For example we’ve been doing a lot of work on parking systems. Our technology is used in hotel and gym check-ins and we’ve created a new generation of self-service kiosks for McDonald’s.
“Everything that we do is about trying to improve the customer experience and improve efficiency.”
In 2018 Evoke received a £6m investment from BGF to support further growth in the UK and overseas.
Dean said: “We’re proud of our roots. Our head office and primary manufacturing takes place on the Wirral. Being based in Liverpool City Region is good for our business.
“You can see from some of names on the LCR Tech Climbers List the depth of digital tech firms in our region and that helps shine a spotlight on Liverpool.”
