A new podcast has launched to encourage young women into the tech industry.

Digital Her, a Greater Manchester-wide initiative from tech trade body Manchester Digital, was set up in 2019 and also aims to support them throughout their careers.

Now the Digital Her podcast brings together women from the 350-strong Digital Her community to hold a series of inspiring conversations about what the tech industry has to offer, what opportunities are available, as well as topics that affect many people such as understanding imposter syndrome or moving into leadership roles.

Hosted and produced by Digital Her programme lead Kirsten Peters Roebuck, alongside special guest hosts, there are five episodes in the first series, with one released every week.

The first episode, out now, focuses on careers in FinTech with guests Sian English and Jo Gibson from BankiFi – star of our FinTech 50 ranking – plus Zahraa Murtaza from GFT.

Katie Gallagher, managing director of Manchester Digital, said: “We’re really proud to officially launch our Digital Her podcast which will help spread our message further and continue to encourage more women into the tech industry.

“By bringing together different voices from women with different journeys and different paths into their tech roles, we can share their experiences and understand the various challenges that women have experienced in the tech industry.”
