FinTech Zuto plans to hire 150 people across its Manchester and Macclesfield offices, as well as a number of remote-first positions, as it achieves B Corp certification.

The plans follow a period of rapid expansion for the car finance marketplace, which is achieving over 50% revenue growth year on year.

In the first four months of 2022, Zuto has already hired 105 new starters in company-wide roles including within its management team, where 43% identify as women. This figure is more than double the average number of female executives at other FinTech firms (19%) and four times the number across the automotive industry (10%).

This rapid growth, alongside the stringent process that Zuto has undergone to achieve B Corp status,  underpins the company’s mission to bring more transparency to the car finance industry — which is traditionally viewed with mistrust by customers.

“Since the very start of our journey, we have been on a mission to change things for the better – not only for our customers, but also for our local community, our Zutonites, and the planet,” said CEO James Wilkinson.

“We want to make the car finance experience as transparent as possible for customers and we are focused on creating a great environment for employees by fostering a culture of equality and sustainability.

“The recruitment drive will strengthen all departments of the company, including sales, contact centre and product development. In our technology division alone we have recently welcomed an intake of  graduate developers and a machine learning engineer.

“We are now on the lookout for more like-minded individuals and people looking to make a real difference.”

He added: “Becoming a B Corp is the single proudest thing that has happened at Zuto and it comes at an exciting time for us as a business, as we go through a period of exponential growth.”

The process of becoming B Corp certified is conducted via the B Impact assessment – which involves a series of stringent assessments on every aspect of a business’ social and environmental performance – from renewable energy sources to diversity & inclusion (D&I).

It is assessed and certified by B Lab UK, a charity founded in 2015 to advance the B Corporation Movement in the UK, part of the B Global Network.
