Round Treasury tops the annual ranking of the UK companies creating original technology for finance and payments.
Following the creation of a 181-strong shortlist, the final ranking – supported by Started, a PR and marketing agency for world-changing FinTech brands and entrepreneurs – was decided by a combination of selections from an expert judging panel (see below) and a vote among readers of BusinessCloud.
The judges
Janine Hirt, CEO, Innovate Finance
Janine Hirt is CEO of Innovate Finance, the industry body representing UK FinTech. Part of the founding team in 2015 – first as head of membership then ecosystem director – she was named COO in 2017 before stepping up to lead the organisation in 2021.
Paddy Goodlet, corporate finance – head of FinTech M&A, KPMG UK
Paddy Goodlet leads KPMG Corporate Finance’s UK FinTech M&A coverage. He advises companies on mergers, acquisitions, disposals, capital raisings and strategic options, and has expertise in working with SMEs and owner-managed businesses.
Helene Panzarino, associate director, Centre for Digital Banking and Finance
Helene Panzarino is a banking innovation consultant, educator and evangelist. She has a deep understanding of the forces, threats and opportunities reshaping the global financial industry and has developed world-leading programmes that explore those forces and the industry’s responses to them.
Kimberley Waldron, founder & MD, Started PR
An advisor and entrepreneur with over 15 years in the financial services and tech industry, Kimberley Waldron hosts the Get Started podcast, chairs the Manchester Fintech committee and is a mentor for Rise by Barclays, Fintech Alliance and Fintech Circle. A regular on stage at Web Summit, Fintech Week London, Fintech Fringe, Finance Magnates and Fintech North.
