Marketplace payment engine Paycast, the second venture of UK-based FinTech group SPG, has appointed Claire van der Zant as managing director.
Van der Zant has been with the company since inception in her previous role as customer director, playing a key role in the company’s journey to make buying and selling online safer for everyone.
In her move to MD, she will continue to support Paycast’s sales, partnerships, marketing and customer success teams in achieving their business priorities, while also working closely with product and engineering teams to ensure Paycast continues to provide a seamless payment experience for marketplaces and their users.
With previous experience as chief operating officer of promotion engine Uniqodo, marketing director of e-voucher company Forlocal and chief of staff/head of strategic delivery for Thomas Cook Money, she has a wealth of experience in positions of leadership and growing people-centric businesses with pioneering eCommerce and finance solutions.
“I’m excited to be stepping into the MD role at Paycast, with the support of a passionate, experienced and driven team around me,” said Van der Zant.
“My expertise and passion lies in solving genuine customer challenges, which is exactly what Paycast aims to do, and I can’t wait to play a role in realising these ambitions.
“All too often we hear about a lack of trust when buying and selling online, and I am so pleased to be leading an organisation that is committed to giving everyone the peace of mind they deserve online.
“On top of that, the year ahead is looking to be an exciting one for Paycast, as we continue to hit the ground running in our mission to create a new era of trust for online marketplaces.”
Peter Janes, CEO of SPG, added: “Claire has played a huge part in developing Paycast from the very start, and her clear passion for growing the business has driven us to go above and beyond for our customers.
“She has already demonstrated that she is an invaluable member of our team, and we have no doubt that Claire will continue to drive the growth and success of Paycast.
“I’m hugely proud to announce this promotion from within, and equally as excited about starting the next chapter of Paycast’s story, with Claire as our managing director.”
