The widow of corporate finance legend Chris Silverwood has issued a moving statement following his sudden death last week.

Silverwood was a corporate financier at Harrogate-based CorpFin, an independent corporate finance boutique offering entrepreneurs a range of corporate finance advisory services, and tributes have poured in since news of his death broke.

Now his wife, Louise, who is a senior associate at law firm Irwin Mitchell, has shared her own tribute on social media, along with family photos.

She wrote: “I wanted to share some very sad news. As some of you may already be aware, my husband Chris passed away recently.

“So many of you have already posted warm words about his work and the difference he made professionally and personally to you, and we’re grateful for every one of them.

“However, Chris would want to be remembered first and foremost as a husband and a dad. Nothing mattered more to him than his family.

“He leaves behind me and our three young sons, Sebbie, Zachy and Leo, along with his two daughters, Francesca and Niamh. He adored every one of them and being their dad was the role he was proudest of.

“Thank you for the kindness you’ve shown already. It means more than you know.”

Louise said funeral arrangements would be announced in due course.
