London-based AI health coaching app Simple Life has raised £26 million in a Series B round led by Hartbeat Ventures, the fund founded by entrepreneur and Hollywood actor Kevin Hart, alongside Liquidity.

The HealthTech will use the funds to accelerate the development of its digital weight-loss platform.

The raise comes after a strong year for the company, which posted $100m in revenue in 2024, grew 64% year-on-year and reached operating profitability.

To date, the app has been downloaded more than 20m times, with users collectively losing more than 17.5m pounds.

“I’m hyped to back Simple through my fund Hartbeat Ventures,” said Hart.

“Simple is truly changing the game in health, and HBV wants to be front row for that.”

The company is tackling what it describes as a $340 billion market gap in weight management, part of a digital health sector projected to nearly triple in size over the next five years.

Its evidence-based coaching model combines behavioural change with real-time nutrition analysis and ongoing AI support to help create sustainable outcomes, with or without weight-loss drugs.

Its AI coach, Avo, was named MedTech Breakthrough’s 2025 “Best Virtual Health Coach” and delivered 19m coaching messages in January alone.

In a peer-reviewed study of more than 50,000 users, 42% achieved at least 5% weight loss after a year, with engagement levels cited as a key driver.

Mike Prytkov, founder and CEO of Simple, added: “Most weight-loss solutions fixate on the end goal.

“We focus on the journey, making it adaptive, rewarding and sustainable.

“We’re turning healthy habits into a motivating game, helping people not only see results, but also build a more positive relationship with health and wellness.”

The fresh investment will be directed toward advancing Simple’s AI capabilities across hyper-personalisation, intelligent coaching using multimodal inputs such as voice and vision, content creation at scale and gamified retention tools.

It is also preparing to roll out a gamified companion experience later this year, which is said to have shown early promise in boosting retention and weight-loss outcomes through features such as streaks, rewards and motivational prompts.
