James Caan CBE, celebrated entrepreneur and former panellist on the BBC’s Dragons’ Den, is expanding his private equity firm into Dubai.

Hamilton Bradshaw is marking its 22nd anniversary with a move into the Middle East – a region “brimming with unparalleled opportunities for growth and innovation”, according to Caan.

“I think the Middle East is absolutely ripe today,” the former Dragon said. “Whether it’s digital, financial services, recruitment, real estate, accounting, or legal sectors, we are looking to back entrepreneurs who want to build market-leading firms in professional services where they have a passion to create a market-leading business in the region.”

Founded in 2003, the firm has supported entrepreneurs in building market-leading companies across industries such as recruitment, real estate, and professional services, with over 50 businesses scaled under its guidance.

The Hamilton Bradshaw MENA division, with Ayman Alashkar at the helm as CEO, will serve as a strategic hub for identifying high-potential opportunities across the Middle East.

Key sectors such as digital transformation, financial services, recruitment, real estate, and legal and accounting are experiencing seismic shifts. Governments and private entities alike are fostering innovation to position the region as a hub for commerce and entrepreneurship.

“Dubai offers an excellent pool of talent combined with streamlined policies and transparency that make it easier than ever to do business here. It’s not just about opportunity – it’s about unlocking potential.”
