North West-based venture capitalist Fearless Adventures has launched its maiden EIS growth fund and is looking to raise an initial capital pool of up to £5m.

The company has set its sights on investing in eight-12 consumer, tech and broader eCommerce businesses in the next 12 to 18 months.

Fearless Adventures was founded in 2021 by Dominic McGregor, David Newns and Charlie Yates and aligning with their commitment as a signatory of the Investing in Women Code, it has made six investments to date, all female-founded or co-founded.

Over the past 12 months, Fearless Adventures (Investments) LLP has delivered an impressive 44 per cent revenue growth across the portfolio via its capital investment and value-add, partnership style wraparound services.

Portfolio partners include the first and only retail platform in the world dedicated to women’s football apparel, FOUDYS, sustainable and ethical household cleaning brand Miniml, and the £8m revenue natural pet food business, Pets Purest.

Newns, co-founder of Wilmslow-based Fearless Adventures, said: “We’re hugely excited to launch our first EIS fund, this allows fans of Fearless an exciting opportunity to invest in the next set of incredible businesses that we will welcome into the fearless portfolio.”

The co-founders and their fellow investors, including the founders of musicMagpie, Simba Sleep, and Living Ventures, firmly believe this support is the key to achieving rapid growth within the sector and securing successful exits.

“The launch of our first EIS fund cements our commitment to helping businesses to grow and flourish.”

Emma Tapper, co-founder of Miniml and part of the Fearless Adventures portfolio, said: “The ethos of the Fearless Adventures team aligns perfectly with ours, especially their drive to challenge the status quo and do things differently.

“With new product launches lined up, and our team and network of stockists growing fast, the Fearless Adventures’ investment and support has added real value to what we do.”
