Uber and Volkswagen have partnered with graphics chipmaker Nvidia on self-driving car technology.

The artificial intelligence tech built by Nvidia is being used by Uber’s self-driving car fleets in Pittsburgh and Phoenix, Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang said at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas.

The tech is used to help autonomous vehicles interpret the world and make decisions. In the last 100 days alone Uber’s self-driving program has racked up one million miles, according to Nvidia.

The chipmaker’s Nvidia Drive tech is also being adopted into the Drive IX platform on Volkswagen’s future car line-up.

A total of 320 companies involved in self-driving cars across all sectors are now using Nvidia Drive.

Nvidia’s stock price has more than doubled in the past 12 months.
