September proved to be another jam-packed month for the BusinessCloud team – and October promises to be even busier.
The month saw 83.4k visitors to our website – a 23.4 per cent increase on the same month last year.
Other highlights included attending Cambridge Tech Week and the launch of FUEL Manchester and the 2026 Northern Leaders.
New audio playback feature
Visitors to our website may have noticed the introduction of a new audio playback feature, which will enable users to listen to news stories and insight pieces by clicking on an icon beneath the headline.
September also signalled the end of season one of The Naked Founder podcast – with season two set to be launched later this month.
Editor and co-owner Jon Symcox said: “It’s been another bumper month for BusinessCloud.
“The 23 per cent increase in website traffic in September needs to be set against the backdrop that publisher Reach plc reported a 40 per cent drop in platform page views for H1 2026.
“Our best-read story was a piece about Moonji founder Abilasha Bhohi, who said she was ‘done’ with business ahead of her appearance on Dragons’ Den.
“Another one of our most popular reads was a profile piece about 25-year-old James Dacombe, who is the founder of Olix, which has been valued at $3.3bn.
“We’re always looking to improve the user experience of the website, which is why we launched the new audio playback feature, which makes articles easier to consume for people with visual impairments, dyslexia or reading difficulties.”
BusinessCloud also attended Cambridge Tech Week in September, with executive editor Chris Maguire joining forces with RSM UK to host a roundtable attended by some of the city’s leading tech businesses and voices.
Symcox said: “Founders are really important to BusinessCloud. It’s the reason why we invested in The Naked Founder podcast, which is set to return in October.
“We also headed over to Liverpool for a special recording of the Northern Spin podcast, to coincide with the Labour Party conference.
“However, there’s no danger of us resting on our laurels as we’ll be announcing the 200 names to make our 2026 Northern Leaders list as well as hosting our FUEL Manchester event on October 28th.”
Recruiting
With more exciting plans in the pipeline, Symcox said BusinessCloud was actively looking to add to its team.
“If you share our ambition and want a new challenge then we want to hear from you,” he said. “We’re particularly looking for journalists but we’ll find the right role for the right person. Just email me at Jonathan.Symcox@businesscloud.co.uk.”
