The Total Vehicle Solutions (TVS) Group, which consists of three UK specialist manufacturing firms in the commercial and industrial vehicle industry, has appointed Andrew Hodgson OBE as its first Chairman.
Hodgson brings a wealth of industry knowledge to the TVS Group, with more than 20 years’ experience in strategic-level positions for leading companies such as British Steel, Airbus and BAE Systems.
He has also held CEO positions at Soil Machine Dynamics (SMD) and Atlantic Superconnection LLP from 2008 to 2017.
Hodgson is Chairman of Recycling Lives Ltd, former Chairman of Avid Ltd and owner of the consulting business Northern Value Ltd, which he founded in 2008.
Awarded an OBE for Services to Manufacturing as well as three Queens Awards for Industry, he was named the North East Business Executive of the Year in 2012.
As Chairman, Hodgson will work with the management of TVS Group as it embarks on the next exciting stage of its growth.
Plans include additional acquisitions that expand the Group’s offer to its customers, such as alternative fuels and refrigerated bodies, and its reach, including the potential purchase of international companies.
Created by UK private equity fund, Elaghmore in August 2019, the Group combines three of the UK’s leading specialist manufacturing firms, SB Components, Priden Engineering and McPhee Mixers.
All three businesses deliver solutions for the commercial and industrial vehicle industry.
The TVS Group has annualised revenues of more than £50m, employs more than 350 people, and operates across four sites in the UK. Elaghmore provides financial and management support to the companies.
Hodgson said: “The combination of three of UK’s leading specialist manufacturing firms, means I believe the TVS Group has an exciting future. I look forward to working the management team to develop further the ‘one-stop’ shop offering of high-quality, cost-effective products and services provided to our customers, both organically, and through acquisition. Despite the challenges everyone is facing because of Covid-19, the business is in excellent shape, and I am delighted to be joining.”
David Manning, Founding Partner, Elaghmore, added: “Andrew’s ability as a strategic business leader has been recognised through his many industry achievements. His extensive knowledge and expertise will be invaluable in helping to spearhead the Group’s continued development.
“As the economy recovers, and the benefits of the Government’s focus on infrastructure investment flow through, we anticipate trading to return to normal within 12 months.”
