Toast PR goes green with Gone West

Technology

Toast PR has added UK environmental tech enterprise Gone West to its growing roster of technology clients.

Focusing on sustainable travel, Gone West has created a platform to offset the negative environmental impact of travel for businesses and consumers alike.

Their seamless booking system counteracts carbon footprint by planting trees, offering a way to explore the world while giving back.

Official partners, including online travel company Expedia, have come on board to help co-founders, James Hughes and Thomas Silcock realise the Gone West vision. Toast PR will implement a campaign to boost awareness of the company’s ‘green way to travel’ nationally as well as their current kickstarter campaign.

As a supporter of the program, Toast PR will also be taking the opportunity to join Gone West’s Green Affiliate Programme that plants a grove of trees aimed at reducing the impact of the company on the environment.

Gone West have also announced that they will be joining Manchester’s growing technology community by establishing a base at the city’s latest co-working hub, Accelerate Places on Princess Street, where they will be joining myclever Agency, Meltwater, Nuuk, Farm Digital, HAC100, Juke Media and Drew Forsyth Photography, amongst others.

Co-founder of Gone West Thomas Silcock said: “Toast PR came highly recommended from peers in the sector. They have a strong reputation as a results-driven and dynamic PR agency operating in the technology space.

“They immediately understood what we were trying to achieve and signed up to our Green Affilate Programme before they even pitched, which impressed us and showed us that we share similar values.”

Julia Mitchell, managing director of Toast PR, said: “Gone West has already commercially planted over 500,000 trees.

“They are on a mission to replant the world’s forests and combat the effect travel has on our fragile environment. It’s a gift to work with a client that has taken the carbon emissions crisis into their own hands.

“By helping raise awareness of Gone West and encouraging more people to book their travel through them we feel like we are helping their mission too which is incredibly rewarding for everyone at Toast.”
