Three shutters rewards program

Mobile operator Three is to close its customer rewards programme ‘wuntu’ next month.

The app-based rewards program offered Three customers discounts and perks, which included money off at restaurants such as Café Rouge and Bella Italia and promotions via brands including Hello Fresh and EasyJet.

It also offered promotions closer to a competition, with the chance to win as free holiday via lastminute.com.

The service was similar to competition O2’s ‘Priority’ rewards programme.

Three yesterday notified its customers of the plans to close the program, and asked its customers to use all its claimed offers by 15 December, when it will officially cease operations.

“Thanks for being with us on this journey – we’re working hard to find even better ways to reward our customers”, the firm wrote to customers via its app.

“There’s still time to enjoy all the latest deals and to use your redeemed offers.”

The Wuntu service was launched in February 2017 to all Three customers.

At launch, Danny Dixon, Three’s director of digital of offers and rewards had said the program would offer an increasingly catered list of promotions.

“We’re working with some fantastic partners for launch and the list is set to grow as the app gains popularity,” he said in 2017.

The firm’s app is currently 50th in Apple’s Lifestyle category and has a 4.7 rating from 14,000 users.
