essensys plc has appointed a new CFO from fellow AIM-listed software and technology business Checkit plc.

The provider of software and technology to the flexible workspace industry said Greg Price will join the company on 14th October 2024 and be appointed to its board as a director.

Price has over 20 years’ experience in senior finance roles. He has worked as CFO at Checkit since 2021 and was previously CFO for Cargo Logic Air.

Price has also held senior positions at Diageo, Monarch and The AA. 

His appointment follows Sarah Harvey’s resignation as CFO and a director after less than two years in the role.

“Greg brings a deep understanding of SaaS businesses, digital transformation and the delivery of customer experience as well as good knowledge of UK public markets,” said Jon Lee, non-executive chairman. 

“He will be a fantastic addition to the team, and I am looking forward to working closely with him.”

essensys said for the financial year ended 31st July 2024 it expects to be ahead of market expectations for revenue, adjusted EBITDA and cash.

The group expects to report revenue of £24 million and an adjusted EBITDA loss of not more than £900,000, compared to a £6.1m EBITDA loss in FY23.

Cash of £3.1m at year end was significantly ahead of expectations, reflecting improved profitability and the receipt of an R&D tax credit of £800,000 for FY22. The group remains debt-free.

All customers are also now upgraded from its legacy product Connect to pure-play SaaS product essensys Platform.
