Tech giants to speak at HealthTech event

Some of the biggest names from the public and private sector will be coming together next week to discuss whether technology can save the NHS.

A total of 13 speakers have confirmed for BusinessCloud’s ‘Can tech save the NHS?’ breakfast event at Chorley Council on June 6th.

They include Lydia Yarlott, co-founder of Forward Health, which has just raised $3.9m in seed funding. The team of junior doctors at Forward Health has produced technology that allows clinicians to avoid outdated reliance on pagers, landlines and unsafe use of WhatsApp.

She’ll be joined by HealthTech entrepreneur Dr Aalok Y Shukla, who co-founded the Straight Teeth Direct platform and mobile app. He wants to uses artificial intelligence to deliver a more scalable, data-driven approach to digital health services.

Cat Jones, a business analyst at mobile technology company Apadmi will be talking about her digital transformation work in the NHS, in particular creating the DonorPath app for The NHS Blood and Transplant  teams.

Chris Chapman, digital ecosystems lead at Salford Royal NHS Foundation Trust, will look at how they’re trying to embed new technology into the NHS to improve patient care and be more efficient.

Gary Hall, chief executive of Chorley Council, will also be providing an update on the new multi-million pound Strawberry Fields Digital Hub, which opens this summer.

The event on June 6th is completely free to attend but spaces are strictly limited.
