Stockport Council CEO Caroline Simpson is the latest speaker to be confirmed for an exclusive event about the growing success of Stockport.

She was appointed at the start of the year and as the deputy chief executive at Stockport prior to her current role she was responsible for leading a major £1bn transformation programme to redevelop the town centre.

Simpson will be taking part in an event entitled ‘The rise and rise of Stockport’ on June 7th in the offices of growing ecommerce website creator Shopblocks, in St Peter’s  Square, Stockport.

She’ll be joined by a stellar panel of speakers including Steve Oliver, CEO and co-founder of musicMagpie, which was launched from a garage in Hazel Grove in 2007 and is now based in Stockport Exchange.

Other speakers include:

  • Shopblocks’ CEO and co-founder Kevin Jones;
  • Phil Mayall, of Muse Developments, who has just been named Property Personality of the Year at Insider’s2022 North West Property Awards;
  • Stockport County FC director Steve Bellis; and
  • Stockport councillor Cllr Elise Wilson, who is also GMCA’s portfolio lead for economy and business.

Shopblocks mark office move with new £250k investment

Stockport has been transformed in recent years through major regeneration schemes including Stockport Exchange and the £120m overhaul of Stockport bus station.

The event is being hosted by BusinessCloud’s Executive Editor Chris Maguire.
