Starling Bank launches web portal for small businesses

Technology

Digital bank Starling is to launch a new web portal enabling its 66,000 business customers to better manage their accounts online and on the go.

The online banking web app launching this week claims to allow customers greater flexibility with features including editing standing orders, viewing statements, automatic spending categorisation and setting up savings goals.

Online banking was a key feature promised by Starling earlier this year, when the bank received a £100 million grant from the Capabilities and Innovation Fund, designed to increase competition and innovation in business banking.

The company was voted 14th in our ranking of the UK’s top 100 FinTech Disrupters by judges and the general public recently.

Starling Bank founder and CEO Anne Boden said: “Many small business owners told us they wanted to be able to bank online as well as on their mobiles, as their businesses grow and become more complex.

“By making accounts accessible on laptops and desktops, we’re giving our customers even more flexibility to bank the way that best suits them and to get on with doing what they do best: running their businesses.”

FinTech Starling was founded in 2014 and was voted best British bank in 2018 and 2019.

The online banking web app is available to business and sole trader customers and will be extended to personal and joint account holders at a later date.
