Rosberg Ventures, a venture capital firm founded by former F1 world champion Nico Rosberg, has just closed its $100m Fund III.
The VC firm is on a mission to support the world’s most impactful startups, in sectors that include AI, software and climate tech.
Rosberg Ventures describes itself as a ‘bridge’ between corporate Euripe and the world’s leading startups.
The 40-year-old, who retired from motor racing days after clinching the 2016 title, has become a prolific angel investor.
He said: “We’ve just closed our $100m Fund III at Rosberg Ventures, oversubscribed with unprecedented demand, and capped allocations for optimised performance.
Humbled
“I’m super humbled by the support we’ve received once again. A heartfelt thank you especially to all our long term partners for the trust.
“Here are some learnings from Formula 1 that have helped us progress so rapidly.
“Take your chances. Sometimes that means even taking those very low odds, 10 per cent chances, but where the upside is enormous.
“Everything comes down to preparation. It’s essential to go through all the failure scenarios.
“Then explore how to make the best of those negative outcomes, or develop a plan to mitigate their negative impact (so that they don’t actually look bad at all).
“This will give you the confidence to go all in on your opportunity.
“In sport, you must often go on the attack and take these risks wholeheartedly.
“Intuitively deciding on which chances to take, and then sometimes succeeding, will compound very powerfully.
“I’m incredibly proud of our Rosberg Ventures team. Venture is a long journey. It will never feel as clear as crossing a finish line in racing.
“But moments like this, getting well passed $200M in AUM, are great milestones giving us the firepower now to keep racing forward.”
