Tech firm Office App is to at least double its UK headcount following a €4.3 million funding round.

The Netherlands-based company, which describes itself as the world’s most advanced tenant and employee experience platform, plans to strengthen its position in Europe and expand into North America with the Series A capital.

The round was led by German VC Join Capital and Austria-based SIGNA Innovations, the Venture Capital Unit, along with UK-based specialist Proptech VC Pi Labs.

A spokesperson told BusinessCloud that the start-up plans to grow its worldwide team from 16 to around 50, with the London office to expand from two to at least four staff.

The firm works with investment management company Nuveen in the UK and with HPE, Dell, LaSalle, UBS and BNP Paribas around Europe.

The company has offices in Amsterdam and London and is already deployed and running with customers in 10 different countries in Europe.

“We’re at an incredibly exciting juncture in our business,” said Thijs van der Burgt, CEO and founder of Office App.

“Having on-boarded some exceptional clients over the past 12 months, the team is ready to accelerate the growth of our business, scaling our European operations and entering the North American market for the first time.

“An office should be so much more than a mere desk. It should be a place that inspires you and provides a happy office.

“We’re delighted to bring such experienced investors onboard, with the wealth of experience offered by Signa and Join Capital and specialists such as Pi Labs providing deep market insight – we feel we have the team behind us to accelerate our growth.”

Founded in 2015, Office App says it is revolutionising the way office environments are utilised, improved, experienced and built, based on end-user data and insights.

It offers services such as room booking, intra-organisation community, access control, maintenance requests, on-demand catering and local amenities.
