A growing Newcastle gaming company is launching a programme to entice new talent into the tech arena.

Bede Gaming’s ‘BU Programme’ aims to change the game for students, graduates and people looking to switch careers by nurturing its own talent.

“The BU Programme is an exciting step in the right direction to help the tech stars of tomorrow realise their talents and passion for the industry,” said Alex Butcher, managing director of Bede Gaming.

“It is one of the cornerstones for our current growth plan, which is taking Bede into new global markets. It’s critical that we can attract and nurture bright individuals with a willingness to learn.”

The firm is offering placements, work experience, practical projects and internships. It said it will work closely with applicants, and internships and graduate programmes will be paid opportunities.

“We are an inclusive company and champion talented people no matter their experience level. Applicants should share our values of being pioneering, open and driven,” added Butcher.

“Many of our current workforce joined us as graduates or in the emerging stages of their careers and have climbed the ranks, so the opportunity is there for the taking.”

Last year the company signed its biggest commercial contract to date this year with Canada’s Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation. It also appeared on BusinessCloud’s 101 North West Tech list.
