Wondrwall, an intelligent home technology provider, has appointed seasoned business leader David Buzby as chair.
The appointment comes on the heels of Wondrwall securing a phased investment programme of up to £100 million to expand its innovative net-zero home energy solutions.
As chair, Buzby will provide strategic guidance and leadership to support Wondrwall’s rapid growth and expansion plans. He brings over 30 years of executive experience spanning the technology and energy sectors.
Buzby joins Wondrwall while continuing his role as chairman of Stem Inc., a provider of AI-driven energy storage systems based in North America and traded on the New York exchange. Previously, he has been an executive director and sponsor of Climate Transition Capital Acquisition I BV, one of Europe’s first climate tech-focused acquisition funds.
He has also held numerous board and investor roles at ‘impact’ companies that focus on renewable energy, energy storage, carbon capture, and CleanTech such as SunRun, North America’s leading residential solar provider.
Over the last three decades, Buzby has helped build 16 companies that have attracted multiple billions of private equity capital and created value through IPOs or acquisitions for the shareholders.
“We are thrilled to welcome David to the team at such a pivotal moment for Wondrwall,” said Daniel Burton, CEO of Wondrwall. “His breadth of experience both in the US and UK markets, and leadership acumen in the energy transition space, will be instrumental as we scale up our operations and bring our transformative home energy management systems to tens of thousands more properties.”

The appointment comes shortly after Wondrwall secured a phased investment programme of up to £100m to accelerate the rollout of its award-winning technology across new housing developments.
In December, Wondrwall announced the addition of Steve Young as CCO to the team, who joined from Strom.
“Wondrwall is reinventing home energy efficiency with its intelligent systems,” said Buzby. “The integrated approach is a game-changer, integrating all the necessary devices to electrify and decarbonise homes seamlessly. What sets our solution apart is our purpose-built software, enhanced with artificial intelligence, designed specifically for this critical task, with worldwide applicability.
“Our turnkey solution simplifies the process for both housebuilders and homeowners, by establishing a singular contractual relationship, streamlining the entire experience. This means housebuilders can reduce upfront costs while meeting regulatory requirements, differentiating their product as ‘greener’ in the market, and providing their customers with homes that have lower ongoing energy costs without requiring them to make an upfront investment.
“Wondrwall empowers homeowners to electrify and decarbonise their homes with unparalleled ease, fostering sustainability with only one relationship, and significantly reducing monthly energy costs.
“My decision to invest in Wondrwall was the result of an exhaustive 18-month research endeavour, spanning companies and software providers across the US and Europe. I firmly believe in the global applicability of Wondrwall’s software, and I am eager to contribute to its expansion on a large scale.”
