Insurance giant Lockton is the latest big name sponsor confirmed for the 2025 Northern Leaders.
They’ll join headline sponsor OBI, alongside existing sponsors CG, GM Business Growth Hub and Rochdale Development Agency.
KPMG will again be hosting our invite-only dinner and awards evening at their Manchester offices, on November 20th, 2025.
Time is running out to nominate people for this year’s list, which celebrates the leaders who make the North a better place.
It can include people from the worlds of business, sport, politics, charity, education, philanthropy, property and many more.
The closing date for nominations to be received is September 5th and can be done by completing the simple online form below.
Matt Davies, a partner at Lockton, said: “We’re delighted to sponsor 2025 Northern Leaders.
“Lockton is the world’s largest independent and privately held insurance brokerage, reporting $4bn revenue in our last financial year.
“I lead our North business with offices in Manchester and Newcastle, with over 130 associates.
“The North is blessed with some amazing leaders and Northern Leaders gives them the recognition they deserve.”
The Northern Leaders list aims to celebrate outstanding leaders from across the region, including the North West, North East and Yorkshire & Humberside.
Last year 540 people made up a long list, which a panel of judges eventually narrowed down to a final list of 200 names that made up the 2024 Northern Leaders.
A separate list of 75 people, aged 45 or less, formed the 2024 Northern Leaders Futures list.
Alongside a panel of respected judges, BusinessCloud will then produce the definitive 2025 Northern Leaders list, which will published ahead of an invite-only dinner and awards evening at KPMG, in Manchester, on November 20th, 2025.
BusinessCloud’s Executive Editor Chris Maguire said: “We’re delighted that Lockton has joined OBI, CG, GM Business Growth Hub and Rochdale Development Agency in sponsoring this year’s Northern Leaders.
“Northern Leaders is only in its second year but has already become an established date in the calendar.
“If you want to self-nominate or nominate someone please fill in the form below by September 5th.”
Northern Leaders was inspired by the former chief executive of Manchester City Council, Sir Howard Bernstein, who died in 2024 and is widely recognised as being the catalyst for the regeneration of Manchester.
