The popular Tech Barometer event is back – and will be bigger and better than ever before.

In a change from previous events, the 4th Tech Barometer event will have two panels instead of one with a special focus on the surge in artificial intelligence (AI) and investment trends.

The popular quarterly event is organised by tech specialist Fairmont Recruitment and BusinessCloud and will also discuss the changing trends in tech and recruitment.

Barclays Eagle Labs must build on Tech Nation’s legacy

The event has been organised jointly by BusinessCloud and Fairmont Recruitment and will be hosted by award-winning journalist Chris Maguire.

The confirmed speakers include Martin Bryant, founder of UK startup newsletter PreSeed Now and technology and media consultancy Big Revolution. He was previously editor-in-chief of international technology publication The Next Web, and community editor at Tech North.

He’ll be joined by Tom Eggleston, CEO of ProofID, which raised £15m in investment in May 2022 from Maven Capital Partners.

Others speakers include Jennifer Atkinson, former chief executive of Chester-based ITC Travel Group, who has teamed up with serial entrepreneur and founder of Manchester customer acquisition specialist Blume, Dez Derry, to invest and grow Travel Seen.

Launched in 2021, Travel Seen was founded with an initial investment from Liverpool-based PE firm Arete Capital.

They’ll also be joined by David Levine, principal of Manchester Angels Network; Chelsea Slater, founder and CEO of InnovateHer and Jack Donohue, CEO and founder of Fairmont Recruitment.

Tech firms must be profitable sooner
