Neil Muller: Family launches fundraising appeal in his memory

The children of tech boss Neil Muller have launched a campaign in his memory to raise money for the men’s suicide prevention charity ANDYSMANCLUB.

Mr Muller, who was the group CEO of Derby-based Node4, was found fatally stabbed at his home in Claverdon, Warwickshire, on June 7.

An inquest into his death at Coventry Coroner’s Court heard that the 54-year-old was found with a single stab wound to the chest and suffered a cardiac arrest.

According to reports, his funeral took place on Friday, where his family asked that memorial donations be made to the men’s suicide prevention charity ANDYSMANCLUB.

A JustGiving appeal – called The Mul Memorial Fund – has already smashed its target of £1,000 and now stands at £5,630.

The appeal, which includes a smiling photo of Mr Muller with his family, reads: “In loving memory of our dad, Mul.

“Our dad was many things to many people: a husband, a dad, a son, a friend and a confidant.

“He was someone people turned to for advice, for support, for a laugh, or simply for good company.

“He had a way of making people feel welcome and valued, and his kindness, generosity and larger-than-life personality left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know him.

“Mul was the sort of person who could light up a room with his humour and bring people together with ease.

“He loved spending time with family and friends, enjoyed a good conversation and was always there for the people he cared about.

“His loyalty, warmth and sense of fun are just some of the many things that will be remembered and missed.

“Football was one of his great passions and something that brought him a huge amount of enjoyment throughout his life. He was also a huge advocate for supporting men, mental health and encouraging connection, friendship and community.

“In his memory, we are raising money for ANDYSMANCLUB, a charity that provides free peer-to-peer support groups across the UK and Ireland, creating safe spaces where men can talk openly and support one another.

“The charity has worked closely with the football community and has partnered with organisations across the game to help spread its message that no man should ever feel alone.

“By donating, you are helping us honour Mul’s memory and continue supporting a cause that reflected the values he cared deeply about: friendship, community and looking out for one another.

“Thank you for helping us celebrate our dad’s life and legacy.”

Close friend Craig Johnson shared a photo of a smiling Mr Muller on LinkedIn along with details of the fundraising appeal.

He wrote: “On Friday we said our final farewell to Neil Muller, a lifelong friend I had known since I was 11.

“The day was a mix of being tragically sad, but the blazing sun and white shorts made us all think of the wonderfully happy days, of which there were very many with Neil.

“This is the last photo I had with Neil, a school reunion outing we did frequently, and the smile on his face tells the story of the wonderful evening we all had.

“I wouldn’t normally ask, BUT men’s mental health affects us all and Neil’s family asked for memorial donations to be made to a wonderful charity for suicide prevention called ANDYSMANCLUB.

“If you knew Neil, even if you don’t, suicide is one of the biggest causes of death for middle-aged men. It’s so good to talk, there’s nothing that can’t be solved. RIP Neil, I love you mate xxx.”

Prior to joining Node4, Mr Muller served as CEO of Digital Space for seven years, between 2018 and 2025.

Before that, he was group CEO of Daisy Group from 2015 to 2018 after spending more than 20 years at Computacenter.
