InvestmentAppointments

Private equity firm Maven Capital Partners has made three appointments to its investment team in Scotland.

Maven’s national office network spans Aberdeen, Edinburgh and Glasgow. Last year it was appointed as one of the managers of the new £150 million Investment Fund for Scotland, an initial £50 million equity fund.

Victoria McLaren and Craig McGill join as investment managers, where they’ll lead on deal origination and execution, with a focus on Scottish deals and opportunities for the IFS Fund.

James Warner also joins as investment associate to support the growing deal team.

McLaren is a qualified corporate lawyer, specialising in M&A, private equity, venture capital and early-stage investment work. Her deal experience spans a wide variety of industry sectors and involved cross-border transactions, particularly in the technology, life-science and software sectors.

McGill is a qualified chartered accountant with corporate finance experience across a number of sectors and transactions, including building products, haulage & logistics, specialist engineering, aquaculture, whisky and SportTech.

Warner joined Maven from EY and is a qualified chartered accountant with broad experience in external audit, business assurance, valuations, accounting, tax compliance, reporting and analysis.

IFS Maven Equity Finance has already made a number of investments into local businesses including 3D printed micro-tumour specialist Carcinotech, MedTech company Calcivis and Glasgow University spinout Nami Surgical.

“We’re delighted to welcome Victoria, Craig and James to the team as we ramp-up IFS support for local companies.”
