Manchester City’s parent company City Football Group has signed a deal for a new eSports social media video series entitled ‘Goal Vs’.
Sports news website Goal, which is owned by the Perform Group, has a professional eSports FIFA player – Graham ‘GrayzaGoal’ McIntyre.
The series will see him compete in friendlies published on the social media channels of the group’s clubs around the world and Goal.
The first four episodes feature him going up against eSports players from Man City, New York City and Melbourne City.
“FIFA plays an integral part in how Goal’s fans enjoy football,” said Goal marketing manager Paul Rayment. “For many, they spend more time playing the game than watching football on TV.
“As we’ve seen the popularity of FIFA as an eSport rise, we’ve been looking for a way to introduce it to our audience and we see ‘Goal Vs’ as the perfect way to do so.
“City Football Group’s eSports players are some of the best in the world and working with them on the first four episodes makes perfect sense, aligning with Goal’s strategy to focus on the biggest teams, players and competitions in the world.”
Goal was a broadcast partner of both the Sportego eLeague and eChamps 2018 FIFA tournaments.
